C2 Short-term joint staff training events

The meeting of partner schools at OŠ Raka primary school

Teachers from all partner schools became acquainted by curricula for science and foreign languages in all partner schools. They discussed about modern approaches to science and language learning in partner schools. Teachers from coordinating school explained the connection between the topics - science, languages and active citizenship and pointed out the importance of education for sustainable development.
Local teachers presented CLIL lessons that were performed with students in grades 7 and 9. They explained the benefits of cross-curricular teaching and learning.
Since one of the partners decided not to participate in the project we had to revise the plan of LTT activities. We agreed on new dates and venues of the events and we also distributed the tasks that we need to accomplish.
Our Turkish partner prepared a presentation on using social media to support the project. We set up a Facebook group to share photos. We had already set up a WhatsApp group for our communication to be faster and more efficient when decisions need to be made fast or dilemmas clarified. He also set up a blogger website on which all our project activities will be visible to all interested groups.
Prior to this short term staff training activity our school had done a questionnaire about teaching science and other subjects for pupils and teachers. The coordinating school gave the questionnaire to partner school too to be done in the following weeks.
A local expert prepared an eTwinning workshop in which participants learned how to use eTwinning in support of our project.
